Our story began in 2004, when Gary and Donna decided to pursue their dream of opening their own bakery. They had always loved baking and sharing their creations with their friends and family, and they wanted to spread that joy to their community. They named their bakery after Saint Herman of Alaska, the patron saint of North America, who inspired them with his humility and kindness. They also chose the Northstar as their symbol, representing their guiding light and their connection to Alaska.
Gary and Donna started with a variety of breads, pastries, and bagels made from scratch with natural ingredients. They quickly gained a loyal following of customers who appreciated their quality products and friendly service. Over the years, they expanded their menu to include more delicious treats, such as cakes, pies, cookies, muffins, croissants, and more.
